How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 1.
2. Inexorable Tide triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Workhorse and a charge counter on Gemstone Array.
3. When Whitemane Lion enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning itself from the battlefield to your hand.
4. Activate Gemstone Array's second ability by removing a charge counter from it, adding .
5. Activate Workhorse by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, adding C.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop uses Whitemane Lion's self-bouncing entry to continuously recast a creature, which in turn fuels Inexorable Tide's proliferation trigger every single time. As your spells proliferate the board, Gemstone Array acts as a mana converter—storing energy and then cashing it in for the exact color you need—while Workhorse sacrifices its own +1/+1 counters to generate the colorless mana required to keep the casting cycle going. Because every iteration leaves you with more counters than you started with, you can endlessly filter your resources through these artifacts to fuel infinite creature triggers and an unstoppable storm count.
