How it works
- Activate Tolarian Academy by tapping it, adding for each artifact you control.
- Activate Candelabra of Tawnos by paying 2 and tapping it, untapping Tolarian Academy and Candelabra of Tawnos as it is a land due to Toph.
- Repeat.
This vintage-legal engine relies on Toph, the First Metalbender to fundamentally transform your battlefield, turning all your nontoken artifacts into lands while they retain their original types. Because Tolarian Academy counts every artifact you control—which now includes your entire artifact collection acting as lands—it generates a massive flood of blue mana with a single tap. To sustain the loop, Candelabra of Tawnos steps in as a targeted untapper, but because Toph has also made it a land, you can invest part of your blue mana to untap both the Candelabra and Tolarian Academy simultaneously, leaving you with infinite mana and untapped permanents.
