How it works
- Activate Vhal by tapping it, adding at least CCC that cannot be spent to cast spells from your hand.
- Activate Candelabra of Tawnos by paying 2 and tapping it, untapping it and Vhal.
- Repeat.
This clever loop turns your battlefield into a self-sustaining mana engine, anchored by Ashaya, Soul of the Wild, which transforms all your nontoken creatures into Forest lands in addition to their other types. Because those creatures are now lands, Candelabra of Tawnos can target them—along with your actual lands—allowing you to untap everything you need as you cycle through the combo. Meanwhile, Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher taps for a massive influx of colorless mana based on her toughness, which is heavily boosted by the sheer number of lands you now control thanks to Ashaya. By funneling a portion of that generated mana back into Candelabra of Tawnos to untap both the Candelabra and Vhal, you create an infinite surplus of colorless and green mana while endlessly untapping your entire board.
