How it works

1. Activate The Core by tapping it, adding at least 3.
2. Activate Candelabra of Tawnos by paying 2 and tapping it, untapping The Core and Candelabra of Tawnos as it is a land due to Toph.
3. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on Toph, the First Metalbender to turn your nontoken artifacts into lands, effectively rewriting the board state so that utilities like Candelabra of Tawnos and The Core (the back face of Matzalantli, the Great Door) can interact in unexpected ways. Once your graveyard is stocked to give The Core a massive mana-producing output via its fathomless descent ability, you can tap it for a flood of mana and spend a portion of it to activate Candelabra of Tawnos. Because Candelabra of Tawnos itself becomes a land under Toph's rule, it can untap both itself and The Core, allowing you to continually repeat the process for infinite mana and infinite untaps.
