How it works

1. Activate Liquimetal Torque by tapping it, giving the creature with a tap trigger the artifact type.
2. Activate Clock of Omens by tapping it and the creature with a tap trigger, targeting the creature.
3. Ertha Jo and the creature trigger.
4. Resolve the creature's trigger.
5. Resolve the Ertha Jo trigger, copying Clock of Omens' ability, targeting Clock of Omens.
6. Resolve both Clock of Omens abilities, untapping it and the creature tapped in step 2.
7. Repeat from step 2.

The engine is fueled by Clock of Omens and Liquimetal Torque, which transforms your target creature into an artifact so it can help pay the tap cost. Once that creature uses its tap ability, Ertha Jo, Frontier Mentor steps in as the grand catalyst, copying the ability because it targets a permanent or player. That copied trigger untaps the Clock, and since Ertha Jo also created a Mercenary token when she entered, you even have spare material ready to help fuel the loop.
