How it works

1. Activate Sage of Fables by paying 1 due to Training Grounds and removing a +1/+1 counter from a creature you control, causing you to draw a card.
2. Lyla triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Berta.
3. Berta triggers, adding 1.
4. Repeat.

This brilliant engine lets you turn your library into your hand by chaining together card draw and mana generation. Sage of Fables provides the core activated ability to draw a card by removing a +1/+1 counter from a creature, and Training Grounds reduces that activation cost so it only requires a single mana. Every time you draw that card, Lyla, Holographic Assistant triggers to place a replacement +1/+1 counter back onto Berta, Wise Extrapolator. This in turn triggers Berta's mana-producing ability to generate the exact {1} needed to pay for Sage of Fables's reduced activation cost, keeping the loop going indefinitely.
