How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Forsaken Miner, targeting any opponent.
2. Pitiless Plunderer triggers when Forsaken Miner dies, and Forsaken Miner triggers when you commit the crime in step 1.
3. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure token.
4. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
5. Resolve the Forsaken Miner trigger, causing you to pay to return it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1, causing the opponent to mill cards equal to Forsaken Miner's power.
7. Repeat.

This elegant little loop turns the graveyard-dwelling Forsaken Miner into an endless mill machine by leveraging Altar of Dementia to turn the Miner's power into milled cards upon sacrifice. The magic happens because Altar of Dementia's activation counts as targeting an opponent—which legally constitutes committing a crime, satisfying Forsaken Miner's resurrection trigger and letting you spend the mana generated by Pitiless Plunderer's watchful eye over the creature's death. Since Pitiless Plunderer refunds the exact black mana needed to pay for the Miner's return via its Treasure generation every single time a creature dies, you can repeat this self-sustaining cycle as many times as it takes to mill out the entire table.
