How it works

  1. Activate Avatar Kuruk by paying 20 minus 1 for each creature and/or artifact you can tap while activating it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. At the beginning of your end step, The Mighty Thor triggers, blinking Avatar Kuruk and causing it to return to the battlefield as The Legend of Kuruk with a lore counter on it.
  3. The Legend of Kuruk's first chapter ability triggers, causing you to scry 2 and draw a card.
  4. Move to your next turn. At the beginning of your precombat main phase. The Legend of Kuruk triggers, putting a lore counter on it. Its second chapter ability then triggers, causing you to scry 2 and draw a card.
  5. Activate Contagion Clasp by paying 4 and tapping it, causing you to proliferate and put a lore counter on The Legend of Kuruk.
  6. The Legend of Kuruk's third chapter ability triggers, causing you to exile it and return it to the battlefield as Avatar Kuruk.
  7. Repeat.

This dazzling engine harnesses Avatar Kuruk's massive Exhaust ability to buy infinite extra turns, but pulling it off requires a clever loop to instantly reset and transform the Saga over and over. Every time The Mighty Thor attacks, her blink effect catches The Legend of Kuruk and resets it back to its first chapter, while Contagion Clasp steps in with its proliferate ability to rapidly push the Saga straight to its third chapter. Once the Saga transforms back into Avatar Kuruk, you simply pay its hefty Waterbend cost again—a feat made much easier by tapping down your artifacts and creatures for mana—to secure another extra turn and repeat the whole spectacle.
