How it works

1. Activate Marvin using Phyrexian Devourer's ability by exiling the top card of your library, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on Marvin equal to the exiled card's mana value.
2. Repeat step 1 as desired or until you have an empty library.
3. Activate Marvin using Deathbringer Thoctar's ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from Marvin, dealing 1 damage to any target.
4. Repeat step 3 as desired.

This clever combo turns Marvin, Murderous Mimic into a one-robot engineering marvel by borrowing the deadly tools of its peers. By mimicking Phyrexian Devourer, Marvin can repeatedly exile cards from your library to pump its own power through counters—bypassing the Devourer's normal sacrifice clause because Marvin is not technically named Phyrexian Devourer. Once those counters have piled high, you pivot to the borrowed activated ability of Deathbringer Thoctar, removing the counters from Marvin to spray near-infinite damage across any targets you choose.
