How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Tatterkite
2. When Tatterkite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its static effect.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on the seamless interaction between Tatterkite, Thermopod, and the front face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight, which grants your other nontoken creatures persist. When you sacrifice Tatterkite to Thermopod's ability for red mana, its persist triggers and it attempts to return with a -1/-1 counter. However, Tatterkite's own static ability completely prevents counters from being placed on it, bypassing the drawback of persist entirely! This allows you to feed Tatterkite back into Thermopod endlessly, generating an infinite stream of red mana and sacrifice triggers, all supported in the background by Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight's passive grant.
