How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Tatterkite
2. When Tatterkite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its static effect.
3. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—the transformed back side of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—granting persist to your nontoken creatures, which sets up an infinite recursion engine with Tatterkite. Because Tatterkite's static ability prevents it from ever taking on -1/-1 counters, it smoothly bypasses the usual drawback of persist and returns to the battlefield endlessly every time it hits the graveyard. Umbral Collar Zealot provides the necessary sacrifice outlet to fuel the loop while letting you continually surveil 1 to dig through your library.
