How it works
Cast Saw in Half by paying 2, destroying Returned Pastcaller and creating two token copies of it with base power equal to half the destroyed creature's power and base toughness equal to half the destroyed creature's toughness, rounding up each time.
When the Returned Pastcaller tokens enter the battlefield, they trigger, returning Saw in Half and Sacrifice from your graveyard to your hand.
Cast Sacrifice by paying and sacrificing a Returned Pastcaller token, adding an amount of equal to its mana value.
Repeat.
This clever black-mana loop begins by casting Saw in Half on Returned Pastcaller, destroying the original bird to leave behind two half-stats token copies that immediately flood the battlefield with their enters-the-battlefield triggers. Those triggered abilities claw both Saw in Half and Sacrifice right back out of your graveyard and into your hand, ready to keep the engine rolling. You then feed one of those token copies to Sacrifice, cashing in its mana value to generate the black mana needed to recast Saw in Half on the survivor, allowing you to continually recycle the spell package while netting infinite sacrifice triggers, death triggers, and black mana.
