How it works

1. Cast Saw in Half by paying 2, destroying Ardent Elementalist and creating two token copies of it with base power equal to half the destroyed creature's power and base toughness equal to half the destroyed creature's toughness, rounding up each time.
2. When the Ardent Elementalist tokens enter the battlefield, they trigger, returning Saw in Half and Sacrifice from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Sacrifice by paying and sacrificing a Ardent Elementalist token, adding an amount of equal to its mana value.
4. Repeat.

This diabolical little engine begins when you point Saw in Half at Ardent Elementalist, trading your original wizard for two token copies that each trigger to pull back spells from your graveyard. Because those tokens inherit the original's mana value, you can immediately feed one of them to Sacrifice to generate the black mana needed to fund the next iteration. As this loop churns through your graveyard, the recursive recovery lets you recast both Saw in Half and Sacrifice over and over again, harvesting endless leaves, entries, and sacrifices.
