How it works

1. Cast Saw in Half by paying 2, destroying Ardent Elementalist and creating two token copies of it with base power equal to half the destroyed creature's power and base toughness equal to half the destroyed creature's toughness, rounding up each time.
2. When the Ardent Elementalist tokens enter the battlefield, they trigger, returning Saw in Half and Burnt Offering from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Burnt Offering by paying and sacrificing a Ardent Elementalist token, adding plus an additional amount of and/or equal to its mana value minus 2.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on the brilliant recursive engine of Saw in Half, which destroys Ardent Elementalist and leaves behind two discounted token copies in its wake. As both tokens enter the battlefield, their triggered abilities recover both Saw in Half and Burnt Offering from your graveyard back to your hand. You then sacrifice one of those Ardent Elementalist tokens to Burnt Offering to generate the necessary black and red mana to start the cycle all over again, retaining a surplus of mana while churning through an endless procession of sacrifices and entries.
