How it works

1. Cast Cabal Ritual by paying 1, adding .
2. Cast Saw in Half by paying 2, destroying Scrivener and creating two token copies of it with base power equal to half the destroyed creature's power and base toughness equal to half the destroyed creature's toughness, rounding up each time.
3. When the Scrivener tokens enter the battlefield, they trigger, returning Saw in Half and Cabal Ritual from your graveyard to your hand.
4. Repeat.

This clever black loop relies on repeatedly sacrificing and replicating our resources to generate endless value. By casting Saw in Half on Scrivener, the original is destroyed and immediately replaced by two token copies that trigger their own entry abilities to return both Saw in Half and the mana-producing Cabal Ritual right back to our hand. With threshold easily met to fuel our mana requirements, the excess black mana generated lets us endlessly repeat this cycle, yielding an infinite storm count alongside limitless creature tokens, death triggers, and enter-the-battlefield effects.
