How it works

1. Activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing Sprouting Thrinax, adding .
2. When Sprouting Thrinax dies, it and Nim Deathmantle trigger.
3. Resolve the Sprouting Thrinax trigger, creating three 1/1 Saproling creature tokens.
4. Activate Thermopod's second ability three times by sacrificing the Saprolings, adding .
5. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger from step 2, causing you to pay 4 to return Sprouting Thrinax from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
6. Repeat.

This clever engine turns the humble end of a reptile into a self-sustaining loop by leveraging Nim Deathmantle's powerful revival trigger whenever a nontoken creature hits the graveyard. When you sacrifice Sprouting Thrinax to Thermopod, you harvest enough red mana from the sacrifice and the resulting three Saproling tokens to comfortably pay the Deathmantle's four-mana resurrection cost. The Thermopod not only serves as the necessary sacrifice outlet, but its ability to convert every creature—token and nontoken alike—into fuel ensures the cycle closes seamlessly.
