How it works

1. If Morselhoarder has any -1/-1 counters on it, activate it by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, adding one mana of any color.
2. Repeat step 1 as necessary until Morselhoarder has no -1/-1 counters on it.
3. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Morselhoarder.
4. When Morselhoarder dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Morselhoarder into an endless engine of sacrifice and rebirth, fueled by the persistent graveyard recursion granted by Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn). By stripping away its initial -1/-1 counters for colored mana and then feeding the creature to Thermopod, you trigger its new persist ability to bring it right back to the battlefield with a single counter. You can then simply tap that newly placed counter to generate more mana before sacrificing it all over again.
