How it works
- Deal combat damage to an opponent using Medomai the Ageless.
- Medomai the Ageless triggers, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
- Cast Idris by paying 1.
- When Idris enters the battlefield, it triggers, exiling Medomai the Ageless until Idris leaves the battlefield.
- Move to your extra turn.
- At the beginning of your upkeep, Idris's vanishing ability triggers, removing a time counter from it.
- Deal combat damage to an opponent using Idris and Thrummingbird.
- Idris and Thrummingbird trigger.
- Resolve the Idris trigger, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
- Resolve the Thrummingbird trigger, putting a time counter on Idris.
- Repeat from step 5.
By using Silverskin Armor to turn Medomai the Ageless into an artifact, you enable Idris, Soul of the TARDIS to imprint the legendary Sphinx when it enters the battlefield, successfully bypassing Medomai's notoriously restrictive text by copying its combat damage trigger onto a different body entirely. Idris then steps in to repeatedly deliver that extra-turn trigger instead, while Thrummingbird swoops in on every successful combat damage step to proliferate and replenish the time counters on Idris's vanishing ability. This clever loop completely sustains Idris on the battlefield through endless extra turns, neatly bypassing Medomai the Ageless's rule against attacking during extra turns by letting the disguised Soul of the TARDIS do the heavy lifting.
