How it works

1. Activate Goblin Bombardment by sacrificing Virtuous Variant.
2. When Virtuous Variant dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Virtuous Variant enters, it triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Goblin Bombardment ability.
5. Repeat.

This loop relies on Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight functioning on its Isilu face to grant persist to your other nontoken creatures, such as Virtuous Variant. When you use Goblin Bombardment to sacrifice Virtuous Variant, its persist ability returns it to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter, but its own entry trigger immediately places a +1/+1 counter on it. These two counters instantly annihilate each other through state-based actions, leaving Virtuous Variant completely clean of counters and ready to be sacrificed over and over again for infinite damage and death triggers.
