How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Woodfall Primus.
2. When Woodfall Primus dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. When Woodfall Primus enters, it triggers, destroying a noncreature permanent.
4. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
5. Repeat.

This delightfully destructive loop centers on Melira, Sylvok Outcast, whose static ability prevents your creatures from ever receiving -1/-1 counters. Because of this protection, when you sacrifice Woodfall Primus to Altar of Dementia, its persist ability triggers and returns it to the battlefield completely untouched by counters. That endless resurrection feeds Altar of Dementia's sacrifice outlet over and over, simultaneously triggering Woodfall Primus's entrance ability to strip away every noncreature permanent your opponents control while milling them out of the game.
