How it works

1. Activate Extruder by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Extruder ability.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the mechanical flaw of persist into an infinite engine by leveraging Melira, Sylvok Outcast, whose static ability ensures that Lesser Masticore never receives the -1/-1 counters that would normally shut down its resurrection. Instead, Lesser Masticore dies and returns to the battlefield endlessly whenever you feed it to Extruder's sacrifice ability. Every time the Masticore hits the graveyard and comes back, Extruder can reinvest those cycles to stack an arbitrary number of +1/+1 counters onto your creatures, generating an infinite storm of sacrifices, leaves-the-battlefield, and enters-the-battlefield triggers.
