2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Sarcatog ability.
4. Repeat.

This loop centers around the elegant protection of Melira, Sylvok Outcast, whose static ability prevents your creatures from ever receiving -1/-1 counters. Because of this safeguard, when Lesser Masticore dies and its persist trigger brings it back, it enters the battlefield completely clean of counters rather than permanently diminished. You can repeatedly feed that same Lesser Masticore to Sarcatog's sacrifice activation, turning the cyclical death and rebirth into an endlessly growing Sarcatog alongside an infinite storm of sacrifices, leaves-the-battlefield, and entry triggers.
