How it works

1. Activate Grinding Station by tapping it and sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. When Lesser Masticore enters, Grinding Station triggers, untapping Grinding Station.
4. Resolve the Grinding Station ability from step 1.
5. Repeat.

This cunning loop turns the self-sacrificing nature of Lesser Masticore into a relentless milling engine by exploiting a clever rules interaction. Normally, the Masticore's persist ability would burden it with a -1/-1 counter and prevent it from recurring indefinitely, but Melira, Sylvok Outcast steps in with her static ability to completely block those counters from ever being placed. Because the Masticore returns pristine every time, its reentry continually triggers Grinding Station's untap ability, allowing you to sacrifice and recast the mechanical beast over and over until your opponent's entire library is in the graveyard.
