How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Repeat.

This clever synergy harnesses the interaction between Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Lesser Masticore to create an endless loop of sacrifice and resurrection. Because Melira's static ability prevents creatures you control from having -1/-1 counters placed on them, Lesser Masticore's persist ability can trigger repeatedly without ever shutting itself down with a counter. You can feed this endlessly reviving mechanical beast directly into Thermopod, sacrificing Lesser Masticore over and over to generate an infinite supply of red mana alongside boundless creature deaths and enter-the-battlefield triggers.
