How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
4. Repeat.

This cunning loop relies on Shilgengar, Sire of Famine to repeatedly feed on Lesser Masticore, sacrificing the mechanical pest to generate a Blood token while triggering its persist ability. Because Melira, Sylvok Outcast stands guard with her passive protection, she completely negates the -1/-1 counters that would normally prevent Lesser Masticore from returning, allowing the automaton to resurrect itself endlessly. Every cycle churns out infinite sacrifices, deaths, and Blood tokens, setting up an overwhelming advantage that can easily fuel Shilgengar's mass-reanimation ability or win the game on the spot.
