How it works

1. Activate Megatog by sacrificing Wingrattle Scarecrow.
2. When Wingrattle Scarecrow dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Megatog ability.
4. Repeat.

This brilliant engine transforms Megatog into an infinitely massive threat by turning Wingrattle Scarecrow's recursion into a self-sustaining sacrifice loop. Normally, persist would bring Wingrattle Scarecrow back burdened with a -1/-1 counter, but Melira, Sylvok Outcast's static ability completely prevents those counters from ever being placed. Because the Scarecrow returns completely clean every single time it hits the graveyard, you can continually feed it to Megatog to pump its power and toughness to astronomical heights.
