How it works

1. Activate Grinding Station by tapping it and sacrificing Wingrattle Scarecrow.
2. When Wingrattle Scarecrow dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. When Wingrattle Scarecrow enters, Grinding Station triggers, untapping it.
4. Resolve the Grinding Station ability from step 1.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Wingrattle Scarecrow into an endless sacrifice engine by exploiting the protective ward of Melira, Sylvok Outcast, whose static ability prevents your creatures from ever receiving -1/-1 counters. Because the Scarecrow returns from the graveyard completely free of its usual drawback, its reentry back onto the battlefield triggers Grinding Station's untap ability, allowing you to sacrifice the Scarecrow all over again. By repeatedly tapping Grinding Station and feeding it the same artifact creature, you can completely mill out your opponents in one fell swoop.
