How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Wingrattle Scarecrow.
2. When Wingrattle Scarecrow dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability
4. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on Melira, Sylvok Outcast and her passive ability preventing creatures you control from ever receiving -1/-1 counters, bypassing the usual drawback of persist. When you sacrifice Wingrattle Scarecrow to power Umbral Collar Zealot's activation, its persist ability triggers and returns it to the battlefield completely clean of counters. Because Melira negates the -1/-1 counter that would normally lock the Scarecrow out of coming back, you can repeat this sacrifice endlessly to generate an infinite stream of enter-the-battlefield, leave-the-battlefield, and death triggers while surveilling your entire deck into your graveyard.
