How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Rendclaw Trow.
2. When Rendclaw Trow dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop hinges on Melira, Sylvok Outcast, whose passive ability prevents -1/-1 counters from ever being placed on your creatures. With that protection in place, Rendclaw Trow can use its persist ability to return from the graveyard indefinitely whenever it dies, completely ignoring the drawback that would normally shut persist down after a single use. By feeding Rendclaw Trow to Carrion Feeder's sacrifice ability, you continually trigger the Trow's resurrection while rapidly growing the Feeder into an infinitely massive threat.
