How it works

1. Activate Yahenni by sacrificing Safehold Elite.
2. When Safehold Elite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Yahenni ability
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on Melira, Sylvok Outcast to completely nullify the drawback of persist, since her static ability prevents -1/-1 counters from being placed on your creatures. With that safety net in place, you can repeatedly feed Safehold Elite to Yahenni, Undying Partisan's sacrifice ability, cashing in the Elite over and over again. Because Melira ensures the returning Safehold Elite enters the battlefield with zero counters, its persist trigger fires infinitely, fueling Yahenni with endless death triggers and sacrifice fodder.
