How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Melira.
2. When Melira dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its static effect.
3. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
4. Repeat.

This loop turns Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight into an engine of endless rebirth by using its backside's ability to grant persist to your nontoken creatures, including Melira, Sylvok Outcast. Because Melira's static ability prevents -1/-1 counters from being placed on your creatures, whenever Bartolomé del Presidio sacrifices Melira, it ignores the counter drawback of persist and returns cleanly to the battlefield. This allows you to continuously feed Bartolomé del Presidio for infinite sacrifice triggers, death triggers, and a massively growing vampire.
