How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Gravelgill Axeshark.
2. When Gravelgill Axeshark dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Shilgengar, Sire of Famine to sacrifice your creatures and churn out Blood tokens, which you can eventually use to mass-resurrect your graveyard. The real magic happens because Gravelgill Axeshark features persist, normally returning with a -1/-1 counter that would shut the loop down; however, Melira, Sylvok Outcast's static ability completely prevents those -1/-1 counters from ever being placed. With Melira neutralizing the drawback, every sacrifice of the Axeshark safely triggers its return over and over again, fueling an endless cascade of artifacts, blood, and death triggers.
