How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Thunderblust.
2. When Thunderblust dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Repeat.

This ingenious engine turns an ordinary combat threat into an endless loop by leveraging Melira, Sylvok Outcast to bypass the inherent drawback of persist. When you sacrifice Thunderblust to Thermopod, it heads to the graveyard, but Melira's static ability prevents the -1/-1 counter from ever landing on it when its persist trigger returns it to the battlefield. Because Thunderblust comes back pristine every single time, you can continuously feed it back into Thermopod to generate an endless stream of red mana alongside infinite triggers.
