How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Furystoke Giant.
2. When Furystoke Giant dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Woe Strider ability
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Melira, Sylvok Outcast and her passive ability, which prevents -1/-1 counters from ever being placed on your creatures. Because of this protective shield, when Furystoke Giant dies and triggers persist, it returns to the battlefield completely fresh and free of the counter that would normally lock it out. You fuel this engine by using Woe Strider to constantly sacrifice the Giant, which not only triggers the persist loop but also lets you use Woe Strider's sacrifice ability to endlessly scry through your deck.
