How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Woe Strider ability
4. Repeat.

This lovely little engine turns an ordinary sacrifice outlet into a perpetual motion machine by exploiting the interaction between persist and Melira, Sylvok Outcast's static ability. Normally, Lesser Masticore would return from the grave bearing a -1/-1 counter that eventually shuts down its own recursion, but Melira steps in to ensure those counters can never be placed on your creatures in the first place. This allows you to feed Lesser Masticore to Woe Strider over and over again, generating an endless stream of sacrifice triggers, leaving-the-battlefield events, and enters-the-battlefield triggers while using Woe Strider's sacrifice ability to dig infinitely deep through your library with scry 1.
