How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Tarpan.
2. When Tarpan dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Tarpan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Tarpan trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
6. Cast Tarpan from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Gwenom.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you grind through your entire library by weaponizing Altar of Dementia to repeatedly sacrifice Tarpan, milling your opponents along the way. While the Altar handles the graveyard payload, Mortuary ensures Tarpan never stays dead by seamlessly sliding it right back to the top of your library. The real magic happens courtesy of Gwenom, Remorseless, whose static ability lets you cast that recycled Tarpan directly off the top while bypassing its mana cost with life, a cost immediately offset by Tarpan's own death trigger.
