How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Willow Geist.
2. When Willow Geist dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Willow Geist from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Willow Geist trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
6. Cast Willow Geist from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Gwenom.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns your graveyard into a perpetual motion machine, anchored by Mortuary which quietly redirects your creatures straight back to the top of your library instead of letting them stay in the bin. Altar of Dementia provides the sacrifice outlet to mill your opponents while instantly sending your creature back to be caught by Mortuary's trigger. Meanwhile, Willow Geist acts as the engine's fuel and growth agent, growing stronger each time it leaves the graveyard and paying back its own death toll with its lifegain trigger. Finally, Gwenom, Remorseless ties the whole operation together by letting you bypass conventional mana costs entirely, casting the Geist straight off the top of your library for a mere drop of life to keep the cycle spinning infinitely.
