How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When the persist creature enters, Railway Brawler triggers, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on the persist creature.
4. Repeat

This clever loop turns any creature with the persist mechanic into an endless engine of sacrifice and rebirth. Thermopod provides the necessary outlet by converting each fallen comrade into red mana, while the newly resurrected creature conveniently cancels out its own -1/-1 counter the moment Railway Brawler triggers upon re-entry to double its power with fresh +1/+1 counters. Because Railway Brawler scales its buff dynamically using the creature's current power, the loop keeps fueling itself indefinitely, generating infinite red mana along with boundless entry, leaving, and death triggers.
