How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Boros Garrison.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Boros Garrison.
5. When Boros Garrison dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Boros Garrison from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Boros Garrison enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
8. Repeat.

This loop relies on transforming your artifact spells into free, self-returning triggers by letting Toph, the First Metalbender turn nontoken artifacts into lands, ensuring any zero-mana artifact functions as a land drop for the engine. When you sacrifice that animated artifact-land to Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, Toph, Hardheaded Teacher's triggered ability catches it on its way to the graveyard and directly returns it to the battlefield. The entry of Boros Garrison then triggers its own bounce ability, picking the artifact back up to your hand so you can replay it endlessly while Shilgengar churns the sacrifices into an infinite supply of Blood tokens.
