How it works

  1. Defeat Invasion of Amonkhet
  2. Invasion of Amonkhet triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
  3. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Pakpatiq that is a 4/4 Zombie.
  4. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Lazotep Convert.
  5. When Lazotep Convert dies, it triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
  6. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Pakpatiq that is a 4/4 Zombie.
  7. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Lazotep Convert's power.
  8. Repeat from step 4.

This clever loop leverages the unique copy mechanics of Lazotep Convert—the back face of Invasion of Amonkhet—to repeatedly exploit a legendary creature's death trigger. By copying Ojer Pakpatiq, Deepest Epoch as it enters the battlefield, your clone gains the legendary god's built-in clause that returns it transformed upon death, turning Altar of Dementia into a recursive mill engine. Each time you sacrifice the copy, it triggers its own revival back into the fray as a fresh Ojer Pakpatiq copy, ready to be binned all over again for an endless wave of sacrifices.
