How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Nardole
2. When Nardole dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Nardole
4. When Nardole dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve both Altar of Dementia abilities from step 1 and 3.
6. Repeat.

This looping engine harnesses the graveyard as a revolving door, powered by Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight granting its vital persist ability to keep Nardole, Resourceful Cyborg coming back for more. Every time Nardole hits the graveyard, Altar of Dementia turns its demise straight into a chunk of mill, while the alternating counters from undying and persist let the cyborg reset its life cycle over and over again.
