How it works

1. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Optimus Prime, Hero.
2. When Optimus Prime, Hero dies, its second ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield as Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader.
3. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader.
4. When Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader dies, Valkyrie's Call triggers, returning Optimus Prime from your graveyard to the battlefield as Optimus Prime, Hero as an Angel with flying.
5. Resolve both Phantom Train abilities from steps 1 and 3.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop centers on the recursive nature of Optimus Prime, Hero // Optimus Prime, Autobot Leader, which continually cheats death by returning to the battlefield converted whenever it hits the graveyard. By feeding Optimus Prime to Phantom Train's sacrifice ability, you trigger its own revival while simultaneously growing the Train with +1/+1 counters. Once Optimus Prime flips to its back face, the next sacrifice instead triggers Valkyrie's Call, which brings it right back as its front face with an added Angel type and flying. Because Valkyrie's Call and Phantom Train keep this engine spinning indefinitely, you generate an endless stream of sacrifice, death, and triggered effects while stacking massive +1/+1 counters on Phantom Train.
