How it works
Cast Sin either from your hand or command zone by paying 5 plus commander tax if applicable.
As Sin enters, remove all counters from all artifacts, enchantments and creatures you control, putting twice that many +1/+1 counters on Sin.
Activate Selvala by paying and tapping it, adding at least plus an additional X equal to Sin's power minus 3.
Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Sin, adding 1.
Choose to return Sin to the command zone from your graveyard.
When Sin dies, it and Selvala trigger.
Resolve the Sin trigger, putting its counters on Selvala.
Resolve the Selvala trigger, untapping it.
Activate Selvala by tapping it, adding an amount of or equal to its power.
Repeat.
This brilliant loop turns your commander, Sin, Unending Cataclysm, into an endless engine of rebirth by exploiting its massive counter-scaling upon entry. As Sin enters the battlefield, it devours counters from your own permanents to swell with colossal +1/+1 counters, which immediately supercharges Selvala, Heart of the Wilds into a massive mana-producing powerhouse. You then sacrifice Sin to Phyrexian Altar to generate mana and send your commander back to the command zone, which triggers Selvala to untap thanks to Thornbite Staff's automatic untap ability when a creature dies. By recasting Sin and repeating this cycle, you continuously grow Selvala's power to fuel infinite colored mana, infinite sacrifices, and endless commander casts.
