How it works
- Activate Selvala by paying and tapping it, adding at least 1 plus enough mana to cast a creature card from your hand.
- Cast a creature card by paying its mana cost.
- Tidespout Tyrant triggers, returning Selvala from the battlefield to your hand.
- Cast Selvala by paying 1.
- Tidespout Tyrant triggers, returning the creature cast in step 2 from the battlefield to your hand.
- Repeat.
This elegant loop turns a simple sequence of casting and bouncing into an endless engine of mana and storm. With Tidespout Tyrant anchoring the battlefield by bouncing permanents whenever any spell is cast, every iteration of recasting your threats becomes a disruptive and productive event. Selvala, Heart of the Wilds serves as both the mana source and the revolving door of the combo, tapping for a massive influx of mana while frequently being scooped back to your hand to reset its state. Meanwhile, Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu ensures that Selvala can tap for mana immediately upon reentry without waiting for summoning sickness, completing the triangle needed to continuously recast Selvala and your other creatures for infinite enters-the-battlefield triggers and unbounded colored mana.
