How it works

1. Cast Pirated Copy by paying its mana cost. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
2. Put Pirated Copy into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
3. Pirated Copy's first ability and second ability trigger, along with Rakdos Joins Up's second ability.
4. Resolve Pirated Copy's second trigger and Rakdos Joins Up's trigger, dealing damage to target opponent.
5. Resolve Pirated Copy's first trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This loop relies on the interaction between Opalescence, which turns enchantments into creatures with power and toughness equal to their mana value, and the legendary rule to continuously trigger death and entry effects. By casting Pirated Copy and having it enter as a copy of the enchantment Rakdos Joins Up, the resulting legendary creature immediately dies to the legend rule. This death triggers both Rakdos Joins Up and the copy's own abilities to deal damage to an opponent while simultaneously using Rakdos Joins Up's enter-the-battlefield ability to recur the copy back to the battlefield, setting up an endless cycle of damage.
