How it works

1. Cast Deceptive Frostkite by paying its mana cost. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
2. Put Deceptive Frostkite into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
3. Deceptive Frostkite's first ability and second ability trigger, along with Rakdos Joins Up's second ability.
4. Resolve Deceptive Frostkite's second trigger and Rakdos Joins Up's trigger, dealing damage to target opponent.
5. Resolve Deceptive Frostkite's first trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns the legend rule into an engine of destruction by leveraging Opalescence to make Rakdos Joins Up an enchantment creature, allowing Deceptive Frostkite to copy it directly from your hand or the battlefield. Because Deceptive Frostkite enters as an exact copy of the enchantment-turned-creature, state-based actions immediately send one copy to the graveyard, triggering both the death-damage ability and the reanimation trigger of the original. That recursion pulls Deceptive Frostkite right back to the battlefield with two extra +1/+1 counters to instantly repeat the cycle, endlessly draining your opponent's life total through repeated death triggers.
