How it works
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Ashaya, adding CC.
When Ashaya dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return Ashaya from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attaching Nim Deathmantle to it.
When Ashaya enters the battlefield, Retreat to Emeria triggers, creating a 1/1 Kor Ally creature token.
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the creature token, adding CC.
Repeat.
If you control a nontoken creature that has haste, you may instead sacrifice it, and then tap it each iteration to get infinite green mana and colorless mana.
This ingenious loop centers around Ashaya, Soul of the Wild transforming your nontoken creatures into lands in addition to their other types, which cleverly turns every creature death and rebirth into a literal Landfall trigger for Retreat to Emeria. By leveraging Ashnod's Altar to sacrifice Ashaya for colorless mana, you fuel Nim Deathmantle’s revival cost to bring her right back to the battlefield. Each cycle nets you a fresh Kor Ally token from Retreat to Emeria to feed back into Ashnod's Altar, while the leftover mana—or the sacrifice of a hasted nontoken creature—yields a virtually endless supply of both colorless and green energy.
