How it works

1. Cast any creature by paying its mana cost.
2. When the creature enters as a Plains due to Ashaya and Emeria Shepherd, Emeria Shepherd triggers.
3. Holding priority, activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing the creature cast in step 1.
4. Resolve the Emeria Shepherd trigger, returning another creature from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop transforms your graveyard into a revolving door by turning every creature into a literal land. Thanks to Ashaya, Soul of the Wild, your nontoken creatures enter the battlefield as Forests, which Celestial Dawn immediately overrides to make them Plains. When one of these creatures arrives, Emeria Shepherd triggers its landfall ability to pull a card from your graveyard straight to the battlefield instead of your hand, thanks to the land entering as a Plains. Before that trigger resolves, you sacrifice the newly arrived creature to Altar of Dementia to mill an opponent based on its power—which Ashaya conveniently buffs with every land you control. Repeat this process to continuously recycle your threats, mill out the table, and trigger endless deaths.
