How it works

1. Activate Gilder Bairn by tapping it, adding .
2. Activate Gilder Bairn by paying G/U and untapping it, doubling each counter on target permanent.
3. Repeat.

This enchanting loop turns Gilder Bairn into a self-contained engine for exponential growth. Ashaya, Soul of the Wild works its magic behind the scenes by turning Gilder Bairn into a Forest land in addition to its creature type, allowing it to tap for its own mana to pay part of the activation cost. Meanwhile, Training Grounds drastically reduces the untap ability's activation cost down to just a single mana, making the loop fully self-sustaining. Together, they let you repeatedly double any counters on your permanents without ever running out of resources.
