How it works

1. Activate Caged Sun by tapping it, adding .
2. Caged Sun triggers, adding .
3. Repeat step 2.
4. As Caged Sun's triggered ability is a mana ability, this combo creates a mandatory infinite loop that cannot be interacted with, thus ending the game in a draw.

This peculiar paradox relies on transforming our artifacts and creatures into lands to trigger a catastrophic rules interaction. First, we use Animate Artifact to turn Caged Sun into an artifact creature, which then allows Ashaya, Soul of the Wild to classify it as a Forest land in addition to its other types. Once Caged Sun is considered a land, tapping it for green mana causes its own mana-doubling triggered ability to fire off, creating a land-based mana ability that triggers itself infinitely. Because this mandatory loop uses un-interruptible mana abilities, the game cannot progress and immediately ends in a draw.
